So no-one gives a rats @$$?

Well my plea for help met a resounding response of zip…but rather than feeling sorry for myself I will inflict some verbal waffle on the world wide web. You know, I really think this being a grown-up thing is overrated. And yes I realise I’m a tad old to be saying such a thing; but when life sucks in the grown-up world, it really sucks. When I was at school I didn’t hear stories amongst my peers of how their husband has cheated on them, or of how little kids are being ignored and left to bring themselves up whilst their frivilous ignorant parent(s) try to recapture the rebel years, or of people scared for the outcome of the government elections. Not to say that these things weren’t happening around me when I was younger; but I no longer have the luxury of being oblivious. I suppose I can be grateful that these are situations happening to others I know and not to me; I hope and pray I am not creating the fabric of my own depressing story, and I hope and pray that the ‘victims’ of those stories find their way back to the lighter side of life.

Well that just made me sound depressed, which I am not. I truly feel for those in those situations. And I am truly grateful for all that I have been blessed with. Their situations help me put my own into perspective - it makes me realise how fortunate I am. I have a wonderful husband, good friends and family both near and far. And it’s Friday and there is a cat living in my building. And thinking on it a little further, I realise that I can think up just as many good stories as the bad - but I’ll save that for the next time I need to waffle.

Everything happens for a reason. Positive thoughts breed positive things.

Have a great weekend everyone.
